Bottom Paint Recoat

Bottom Paint Recoat

Bottom paint is used to prevent marine growth on boat bottoms.

A bottom paint recoat is recommended for boats in good condition that don’t have a build up of paint that needs to be removed.

It’s important to know what paint was used on your boat last.

Bottom Paint Recoat

Bottom paint recoat includes:

Prep Work

  • Scrap Off Left Over Dirt, Algae & Hard Barnacles
  • Scrub with a Coarse Scotch-brite Pad (Old Bottom Paint Must Be Well Adhered)
  • Mask Off Areas Such as the Waterline & Hardware

Application

  • Apply 2 Coats of Bottom Paint. Allow the First Coat to Dry Completely Before Applying Additional Coats. Most Paints Require at Least Two Coats for Optimal Protection.
